Family Y Kicks Off Membership Blitz in Advance of June 25th Opening

(Owen Sound, ON) The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce will welcome the community to its new home at the Regional Recreation Centre on Monday, June 25th! Doors open for business at 5:45am.

The Family Y launched its Pre-Sale Membership Blitz today which will run until June 21st, when the downtown Family Y location will close for the last time. The Family Y is encouraging those who plan to get a membership at the new Y to avoid the lines, and sign up now.

Extra staff is available between 8am and 8pm, Monday through Friday, and between 10am and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday at the current location.

“We want to make it as convenient and easy as possible for people to get their membership,” commented Kim Williams, Centre Manager. “By registering early, new members avoid the line ups, and will have the opportunity to attend an advance tour and the Y Members Only Experience Day at the new centre.”

Membership is the most economical way to participate at the Family Y, with special rates available for families, whether you are two adults, a parent and child or a family of five. The YMCA Membership Fee Assistance Program is available for those with low incomes who wish to participate but are unable to afford the full cost of membership.

Doubling the size of the existing location, the new Family Y includes many expanded, enhanced and new opportunities for people of all ages. The centre includes:
- 8 lane, 25m length pool
- Warm water therapy and leisure pool
- Latest in fitness classes, with Gravity Training and TRX® Suspension Training
- Designated Fitness and Cycling Studios
- Multi-sport gymnasium
- Modern cardio equipment embedded with personal tvs and iPod docks
- Updated strength training equipment and free weights
- Two-lane, cushioned walking/running track

“The Family Y is highly experienced in its ability to deliver a wide variety of age-specific programs for all people, from children to seniors,” continued Williams. “Our new, modern facility allows us to do what we do, even better!”
