McArthur Family Contributes; Dressing Room Named in Honour of Grandparents
Posted: 22/11/10
Greg McArthur, left, and his brother Kevin, right, recently presented Regional Recreation Centre Capital Campaign co-chair Tom Rice and committee member Denise Reid with a $25,000.00 donation towards the new Regional Recreation Centre.
The donation from the McArthur family and its business, Contractors Rental Supply, is in memory of Timber and Mabel McArthur. In recognition of the gift a referee dressing room will be named in honour of Greg and Kevin's grandparents, Timber and Mabel.
Construction is well underway on the $38.6 million, 125,000 sq. ft. regional recreation centre. It will house two NHL-sized ice rinks, a health and fitness centre, a walking/running track and two pools, one competitive-sized and one for leisure and therapy. The Owen Sound Family Y is a partner in the project. For more information, check the Regional Recreation website at www.regionalreccentre.ca. To make a donation, please contact the campaign office at 519-376-0484, ext. 222.
